So the other day I was surfing online and saw that the SmartCar ONLY gets about 40 mpg on the highway. I say ONLY, because if you haven’t seen the SmartCar it can either be called one of two things:
1) A lawn mower with a roof
2) Erkel’s car.
Now the other thing that took me aback was that these little things run in the neighborhood of 13 to 15k. For about 3k more you can get a Civic, which is just a few mpg less than the SmartCar and people won’t point at you and call you a “tree huggin’ tool.”
Is the SmartCar really that Smart with only 2 seats? Don’t worry, unless you’re a Hollywood big shot proving to everyone that reads People, that you’re “environmentally friendly,” you probably don’t need to worry about toting a bunch of friends along. Something tells me that you’re on the lookout for a few friends, as you feel the need to drive something that screams “Hey world, look at me! I’m not worthless afterall!”
Although I do have to admit, that even with the great safety rating, I would pay some serious duckets to see a SmartCar get sideswiped by an F250. You know, just for the fun of it! Kinda the way I enjoyed watching King Kong Bundy take on that gaggle of midgets in WrestleMania 3.
Now on to some TV…
SNL was pretty good yesterday, and we got to see Justin Timberlake come on for a few spots. First, let me say that I think if you met him, you’d probably need some Charmin cause he has to be a huge a-hole in person. BUT, I would still hang out with him, cause damn he’s funny. Not Ashton, I think I’m more important and cool than anyone else, but actually very quick and funny. Too bad he had to bail on next week’s show. Even worse, is that we get Tim McGraw hosting the show. But hey, I’m sure Red Neck Hospital will be back. But meanwhile, enjoy this JT clip…
Last night on Family Guy, they made a few Recalls or “call backs” to previous characters and episodes. The two that stuck out in my mind was the great Buzz Killington making another appearance and dashing the good times of young Stewart Griffin.
Then Stewie tried to get “New Brian” pissed off by uttering the infamous “Cool Whhip” comment to no avail. An obvious call back from a classic Brian and Stewie argument.
But this got me thinking of other things Family Guy needs to revist, so here are my Top 5 Family Guy Recalls.
#5 GREASED UP DEAF GUY
Where has he been? I believe the last time I saw him he was running through Mort Goldman’s Pharmacy. It’s such an odd and random character that can easily be inserted into basically any scene. Plus, it seems like Marlee Matlin is getting picked on way more and she’s not nearly as funny or greasy.
#4 BRUCE CENTRIC EPISODE
C’Mon we all need a little more Bruce!
#3 BLUE HARVEST SEQUEL
In the words of Peter Griffin: “Really?” You’re going to give us a great episode like that and not follow it up with homages to Empire and Jedi? I mean, it would be classic if they had the gay guy be the voice of Jabba. “Oh, look what I got here. A girl in chains. Mmmm….I should like that, but I don’t.” Just ticks me off we haven’t seen more sequels or prequels.
#2 An Adam West Centric Episode
Not really a call back, but Mayor West is just ridiculous, borderline redonkulous. He needs his own episode.
#1 The Novel
The best Stewie/Brian moment was when Stewie went on and on about Brian and his novel. They’ve called back to it before, but to me it never gets old! I did like how Lois ripped into him about his novel being a rip off of Iron Eagle. Good stuff.
So that’s what I want to see, anything you guys are itching for??
BTW, sorry for the long delay. Let’s just say life can suck. But the Deuce is back people, so rejoice!
